Frontiers in Big Data: Exploring the potential of Big Data’s impact in the world

Big Data and Data Analytics is a Bachelor of Management course from Telkom University’s Faculty of Economics and

Business. In today’s digital era, there is an endless vast amount of data overflowing around us.

Even without being fully aware, we are constantly involved in Big data as we go about our daily lives. Learning big data technology is becoming more and more necessary as utilising this abundance of information could improve business decisions.

Predictive analysis

Big data facilitates predictive analytics, allowing organisations to anticipate future trends and behaviours. Organisations can use historic and current data to forecast trends and behaviours for the future. The applications that we use on a daily basis also makes use of predictive analysis to provide options that we didn’t even know we needed. For instance, one of Indonesia’s most used apps is Gojek. From selecting the right driver to dispatch, dynamically setting prices, serving food recommendations and forecasting real-world events, Gojek makes use of predictive analysis in order to improve its operations and satisfy their consumers. During rainy seasons, Gojek would offer foods that provide comfort, warmth, and boost immunity such as hot soups and warm beverages.

Job Opportunities and Career Growth

Indonesia’s economy is undergoing a transformation fueled by digitization, and data is a pivotal aspect of it all. Industries such as finance, healthcare, e-commerce, and telecommunications are embracing big data analytics to gain a competitive advantage. Job roles in the field of Big Data and Data Analytics include data scientists, data engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts or even database managers. Certainly, Big data is a pivotal course that is not only integrated in the department of informatics but is also influential in the business department.
