A Recap of the 2023 Student Orientation for New International Class Students
Friday, 15th September 2023 marked a day of excitement and enchantment as we welcomed our new international class students to an unforgettable student orientation. The event was led by our charming Master of Ceremonies, Rexcy, an Informatics student, and Olaza, also an Informatics student, who together orchestrated a memorable day under the enchanting theme of the “Wizarding World,” our orientation event was filled with valuable information, inspiring talks, and a touch of magic.
A Comprehensive Introduction to the International Class
The cornerstone of this orientation was the invaluable information about the international class, which sets our university apart. Dr. Mohammad Deni Akbar, the Manager of Postgraduate and International Class, took the stage to provide a comprehensive report on the international class program. He delved into the various programs available to international class students, emphasizing the importance of Rules and Ethics within this academic community. Dr. Akbar’s insights were instrumental in helping students understand the unique opportunities and responsibilities that come with being part of the international class.
Welcoming Words from Dr. Iis Kurnia
Dr. Iis Kurnia, the Director of Postgraduate and Advanced Learning, graced the event with her opening speech. Her warm welcome set the tone for the day, assuring new students that they were not just joining an institution but becoming part of a supportive and thriving academic family. Dr. Kurnia’s words resonated with hope and anticipation as she encouraged students to embrace the journey that lay ahead.
A Magical Journey: Insights from Alumni
A standout moment of the day was the sharing session with an esteemed alumnus, Halim Dwi Putra, S.T., who graduated from the Industrial Engineering International Class. His talk, titled “Potion and Spell of a Magical Journey,” was brimming with motivation and excitement for the new students. Halim shared his personal experiences and the transformative impact that the international class had on his life. His message served as a reminder that success is achievable through determination and dedication.
Entertainment to Unwind
In the midst of gaining knowledge, it was essential to unwind and enjoy some entertainment. A talented student showcased their skills, Out of nowhere band and dystopia band, captivating the audience with a performance that left everyone in awe. This moment of entertainment not only provided a break but also showcased the diverse talents within the student community.
Preparing for ESyP: Insights from the Language Center
Anistya Rachmawati, S.S., M.Pd, the Assistant Manager of the Language Center (LAC), took the stage to shed light on the crucial topic of “Preparation for ESyP.” Her insights were invaluable as she discussed the resources and support available at the Language Center to help international class students overcome language barriers and excel in their academic pursuits. Her dedication to facilitating effective communication was inspiring.
Global Opportunities
The final segment of the orientation was a presentation by Indah Fajarwati, S.E., M.M, the Manager of the International Office (IO). She introduced the international mobility program, which opened doors to exciting global opportunities. From exchange programs to double/dual degree program, the IO’s offerings were a testament to the university’s commitment to providing students with a well-rounded, globally oriented education.
