
Closing Ceremony of International Collaborative Community Service (ICCS) : Celebrates after Community Service collaboration
The International Collaborative Community Service (ICCS) in Temajuk, West Kalimantan, is a program initiated by Telkom University. This initiative is carried out in partnership with universities from West Kalimantan, including Politeknik Negeri Sambas (Poltesa) and Universitas Panca Bhakti (UPB), along with Malaysia’s i-CATS University. The program also involves collaboration with an industry partner, PT. Telkom Indonesia.
This program was successfully throughout the event, a series of impactful activities took place, including website and English language training for the people of Temajuk. The program concluded on a high note with a celebratory closing ceremony, marked by great enthusiasm and joy on the final day.

The event was attended by officials from each participating university, along with local authorities such as Mr. Budi Susanto as the Head of Paloh Sub-district and Mr. Izal as the Secretary of Temajuk Village. The closing ceremony marked a successful collaboration between the universities and the local community.
The closing ceremony, organized entirely by the ICCS students, was lively and celebratory. In addition to the formal sessions, the highlight event of ICCS was to be tried Virtual Reality device, Mr. Izal and Mr. Budi facinating with the technology and was happy to accept the technology and can learn english using that thing.




And after demonstrating VR, one of the students from Telkom University presented the outcomes of their training. A standout moment was a presentation by Romario, an international student from Telkom University hailing from Timor Leste, who introduced a tourism website for Temajuk developed by his team. This website is expected to serve as a platform to promote Temajuk’s tourism potential to the wider world
Following the presentations, the atmosphere relaxed with a karaoke session, bringing together students, faculty, and village officials. The friendly and cheerful environment created lasting memories for all participants, as laughter and camaraderie filled the evening. The students eagerly took photos with the new friends they had made during the program, celebrating the strong bonds that had formed between students from various universities. Though their time in Temajuk was brief, the cultural and cross-border connections made were profound, demonstrating the significance of such collaborative efforts.
One of the key moments of the closing ceremony was the handover of a Starlink device, Virtual Reality Device and Website from Telkom Indonesia to Temajuk Village, part of the effort to improve digital connectivity in this remote area. The handover was conducted by Dr. Mohammad Deni Akbar, Manager of the International Class Academic Office at Telkom University, who also helped design the ICCS program. With the installation of Starlink, Temajuk is expected to benefit from faster and more stable internet access, aiding the development of the village’s tourism sector and supporting technology-based education in this border region.
This closing ceremony marked the end of the ICCS program, but the spirit of collaboration, friendship, and community service that was fostered during the event will live on. With the installation of Starlink from Telkom Indonesia, it is hoped that Temajuk Village will continue to progress, particularly in terms of access to information and technology, which will support education and economic development in the village.
