SHARING SESSION “DREAM FUNDED, HORIZONS EXPANDED”

On Friday, December 15th, 2023, the International Class Academic Office organized a captivating event titled Sharing Session “Dream Funded, Horizons Expanded,” featuring the esteemed speaker, Winta Pingkan. The session aimed to shed light on Winta’s journey from being an Industrial Engineering graduate at Telkom University and currently pursuing a master’s degree at Wageningen University, fueled by the prestigious Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) Scholarship. The event opened with great enthusiasm, led by the Master of Ceremony, Yuli Sun Hariyani, Ph.D, and commenced with the uplifting notes of Indonesia Raya and Mars Telkom University. 

 The next agenda, Dr. Mohammad Deni Akbar, the manager of Postgraduate and International Class, set the tone for the event with an inspiring opening speech. Dr. Akbar emphasized the significance of international education and the opportunities it presents for personal and academic growth.  

The highlight of the event was the engaging session with Winta Pingkan, a Telkom University alumna currently pursuing her master’s degree at Wageningen University. As an awardee of the LPDP Scholarship, Winta shared her experiences and insights into the process of securing such a prestigious funding opportunity. 

Winta began by recounting her journey, detailing the challenges she faced and the lessons she learned along the way. Her story served as a source of inspiration for the aspiring students in the audience. She not only spoke about the technicalities of the scholarship application process but also touched upon the importance of resilience, determination, and the courage to dream big. 

Winta’s key message revolved around encouraging students to consider pursuing degrees overseas and to overcome any hesitations they might have about the application process. She stressed the transformative power of international education in broadening horizons and expanding one’s perspectives. 

Following Winta’s presentation, the floor was opened for an interactive question-and-answer session. Students seeking advice on scholarship applications, also how to choose the university, and making the most of international experiences. Winta’s responses were both insightful and practical, providing valuable guidance to the audience. 

The event concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from Dr. Mohammad Deni Akbar, expressing gratitude to Winta Pingka for sharing her journey and insights. The attendees left the session inspired and motivated, armed with a newfound belief in the possibilities that await them beyond borders.
