Student Volunteer ICAO: Comprehensive Orientation Program Guide
What is ICAO Student Volunteer?
Student Volunteer is a community-based organisation established in 2020 under the supervision of the International Class Academic Office (ICAO). It aims to foster collaboration within International class students of Telkom University and facilitate international students to improve student abilities through non-academic efforts whilst fostering camaraderie among international students. The efforts that have been made by SV to achieve its goals are program implementation such as orientation for new international students and sharing sessions with successful alumni.

Mission: Serves as a bridge that facilitates international students of Telkom University to learn and grow as an individual that has competencies to share for future generations
Organizational Structure
The Human Resource division of Student Volunteer (SV) is responsible for managing various aspects related to the workforce. The primary objective of HRD is to optimise human capital to achieve organizational goals and create a positive work environment.
The Human Resource division is segmented into six sub divisions including:
- Content
Generate various digital visual resources such as social media posts in order to support every Student Volunteer activity. This division also leverages content to attract, engage, and retain international students. - Documentation
Document all of SV’s events through multimedia journalism such as providing photos, videos and live reports. This division also works closely with the Content and Creative division to produce visual media. - Event
Conceptualize events, set goals and objectives, and develop timelines and schedules. This division also consists of MC or Moderator to guide the audience through the program. - Logistic
Ensure the readiness of equipment and necessities for student volunteers participating in the event. This division also conducts surveys and handles the reservation of venues to ensure the smooth progress of the event. - Creative
Collaborate with the creative team to generate innovative and engaging ideas that align with the vision of ICAO and the specific event. - Finance
Seek external sponsorships and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration with sponsors.
Program
There are 2 types of programs offered by SV: –
- The first type of program focuses on self development of international students of telkom university. students have the opportunity to enhance their skills through activities that explore career paths, real-world case studies, and other relevant experiences.
- The second Program focuses on enjoyable activities, such as social gatherings and orientation sessions. These events provide international students with the chance to foster connections with one another and develop closer relationships.
Orientation for International Class
One of the crucial stepping stones into university is the orientation program. One of the main events by SV is the orientation program for international class. This program allows students to cultivate a sense of belonging and help students navigate their new environment confidently. Since SV’s formation, SV has arranged two successful orientation programs in 2022 and 2023 that offered invaluable insights, connections, and resources to set international class students to the path of success.
SV consistently designs programs with the intention of bringing their vision by transforming fictional worlds into reality. Employing movies or films as thematic elements, they enhance the experience for international students. Trailers or teasers for upcoming events are regularly showcased on SV’s Instagram page (@studentvolunteer_telu).
