
UK Academic Life with Telkom University: Expanding Global Opportunities through Collaboration with 11 UK Universities
Bandung, June 16, 2025 – Telkom University, through the International Class Academic Office under the Directorate of Postgraduate and Advanced Learning, in collaboration with Indonesia Britain Education Centre (iBEC), successfully hosted the event “UK Academic Life with Telkom University.” This initiative brought together representatives from 11 leading universities in the United Kingdom (UK) in an effort to enhance international education exposure and foster academic collaboration.
The event aimed to provide valuable insights and first-hand experiences for students aspiring to pursue Master’s and PhD studies in the UK. It also served as a concrete step in supporting the internationalization of higher education and expanding students’ access to global academic opportunities.
The event opened with a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Mohammad Deni Akbar, Manager of Postgraduate and International Class at Telkom University, who expressed appreciation for the collaboration and emphasized the importance of international partnerships in advancing academic excellence.

Two distinguished speakers from renowned UK institutions were invited to share their expertise.
- Alfin Firdaus from the University of Glasgow led the first session with the topic “How to Pursue Master or PhD in the UK.” His presentation drew great enthusiasm, reflected in the active engagement and numerous questions from participants eager to learn more about postgraduate pathways in the UK.
- The second session was delivered by Ms. Jo Anne Tan from the University of Manchester, who discussed “How to Write a Good Personal Statement.” She provided practical guidance and insightful tips to help prospective students prepare one of the most essential documents for postgraduate applications.
A total of 35 participants from various universities in Bandung attended the event. In addition to the seminar, a university fair was held featuring booths from prestigious UK universities, including:

- Queen’s University Belfast
- University of Glasgow
- The University of Manchester
- University of Sussex
- Loughborough University
- Prifysgol Bangor University
- Royal Holloway, University of London

Each institution offered participants the opportunity to consult directly with representatives about available Master’s and PhD programs, scholarship opportunities, and life as an international student in the UK.
Through UK Academic Life with Telkom University, participants not only gained valuable knowledge about studying in the UK but also had the chance to build meaningful international networks. This collaborative initiative between iBEC and Telkom University reflects a shared commitment to preparing Indonesian students for global competitiveness and fostering high-quality academic mobility.
The success of this event marks another milestone in Telkom University’s ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive, globally connected, and inspiring academic environment.
