Info Session: Study in Japan

26 November 2025, the International Class Academic Office (ICAO), in collaboration with the International Office (IO), successfully held an engaging Info Session : Study in Japan. The event brought together more than 50+ enthusiastic participants, including undergraduate International Class students, regular program students, and postgraduate students who are eager to explore academic opportunities in Japan.

Opening of the Event

The session was opened by the Master of Ceremony, Ghea Ariefina Dwitami (Staff of ICAO), followed by a moment of silence to solemnly begin the program.

An opening speech was then delivered by Dr. Mohammad Deni Akbar, Manager of Postgraduate and International Class. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of global exposure and encouraged students to take bold steps in pursuing international academic experiences.

Experience Japan Through Student Stories

Before the main agenda commenced, the audience was invited to watch an inspiring “Day in the Life” video created by Telkom University students currently participating in an exchange program at Kumamoto University, Japan. The video showcased lively scenes of campus life, cultural experiences, and daily activities, offering participants a firsthand glimpse into what studying in Kumamoto truly feels like.

Main Session: Study in Japan with Kumamoto University

The main presentation was delivered by Mrs. Mia Hernawati, Liaison Officer of Kumamoto University.
In her session, she provided comprehensive information on:

  • The environment and atmosphere of Kumamoto City
  • Available scholarships for international students
  • Various exchange programs offered at Kumamoto University
  • Academic life, student support systems, and tips for living in Japan

Participants showed great enthusiasm, especially during the Q&A session, where some students expressed their interest in studying in Japan and asked insightful questions about eligibility, application processes, and scholarship opportunities.

Appreciation Ceremony

As a form of gratitude, ICAO presented a token of appreciation to Mrs. Mia Hernawati, handed directly by Dr. Mohammad Deni Akbar. The International Office (IO) also presented their appreciation, represented by Mrs. Novie Susantie.

Closing Moments

Afterward, all participants joined a group photo session, capturing the excitement and inspiration shared throughout the program.

The event concluded with a feedback submission, allowing participants to share insights and suggestions for future events.

A Step Toward Global Opportunities The Info Session showcased ICAO’s and IO’s commitment to providing valuable international exposure for Telkom University students.
