International Class Student Orientation 2025: Shaping a Global Mosaic

Friday, 12 September 2025 – The International Class Academic Office (ICAO) successfully hosted the International Class Student Orientation 2025 under the inspiring theme “Shaping a Global Mosaic.”

The event opened with a special performance by International Class student Siti Azkiya and her team. Siti beautifully performed two traditional songs, Pupuh Durma and Kawih Cinta Nusa, accompanied by Trio Ratno on the suling (flute) and Dimas Anggara on the kacapi (Sundanese zither). The stage then lit up with another talented International Class student, Mohammad Ayman Zulfikar from Visual Communication Design, who captivated the audience with his renditions of Bohemian Rhapsody and My Way. Loud applause filled the hall for both performances.

Guided by the dynamic Masters of Ceremony, Luh Shanda P.W and Alya Qurratuain Zulfa, the event maintained an energetic and engaging atmosphere throughout.

The orientation began with a report on the International Class program delivered by Idola Perdini Putri, Ph.D., Director of Postgraduate and Advanced Learning. This was followed by introductions of the Heads and Secretaries of International Class Study Programs across faculties, allowing students to get acquainted with their academic leaders.

Next, Dr. Yuli Sun Hariyani, Assistant Manager of ICAO, presented key information about the International Class program, academic regulations, and important requirements for students. Indah Fajarwati, M.M., Manager of the International Office, then highlighted the Mobility Program, a mandatory component for graduation. From the Language Center, Qisti Triani provided insights into the ESyP which freshmen are required to take for one year.

A warm welcoming speech was also delivered by Prof. Dr. Suyanto (Prof. Suo), Rector of Telkom University, marking the official start of the new academic journey.

The highlight of the day was a keynote speech from Drs. Umar Hadi, M.A., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations, other international organizations in New York, and the International Seabed Authority in Jamaica. He delivered an inspiring talk on “Empowering a Generation of Resilient and Persevering Global Citizens.”

Drs. Umar Hadi, M.A. talked about both the past and the future, encouraging students to believe in themselves and never doubt their potential. He also shared stories from his own experiences about his first business to inspire them.

The orientation closed on a high note with a lively performance from the SV Band (Student Volunteer Band), featuring Farel, Ariel, Mitchel, and Bagas. Their setlist included Couldn’t Save U Tonight by Ardhito, Best Part x Officially Missing U, and Lazy Song by Bruno Mars, songs that had the entire audience singing along enthusiastically.

The event not only provided important academic information but also showcased the spirit, talent, and diversity of Telkom University’s International Class community truly shaping a global mosaic.
